Historic American Landscapes Survey architects and historians are documenting the Chapel Sculptural Details at the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, located near Romagne-sous-Montfaucon in Northeastern France, for the American Battle Monuments Commission. The intricate sculptures were designed by York & Sawyer Architects, who worked closely with their skilled model makers from Ricci & Zari of New York to bring these masterpieces to life. Local artisans then carefully carved these features directly into the site using full-size plaster models as a guide.
