John Maine studied art at the West of England College of Art from 1960 until he completed his course in 1964, then he headed to London to attend the prestigious Royal College of Art for three more years until 1967. After graduating from college, Maine established a thriving sculpture studio in Shoreditch, London, and embarked on extensive travels that took him far and wide. His journeys greatly influenced his work, particularly those to Mexico where he was deeply affected by what he saw. Column is a majestic marble sculpture standing approximately one meter tall. Created in 1993, this incredible piece of art measures around one meter tall.
