Colt 1911 (Split down the middle for easy printing)
thingiverse
Model from here: https://grabcad.com/library/colt-1911-a1-model-goverment-pistol I always find that guns print easiest when split down the middle and placed flat on the bed, this method needs very little support (although still normally needs very minimal support for the inside of the barrel and some other parts depending on the gun). The only downside to the split and flat on the bed method is that you need a fairly large printer to do it, most likely one with around a 300mm print bed. Printing is very simple, **simply enable supports and allow the auto supports within your slicer to figure it out, there's only the inside of the barrel and a few other small areas that will need supports.** Use as much infill as you need to support the interior bridged areas of the model (have a look through the layer view to check), I personally used 20% cubic. After printing both parts, simply glue them together, I have included seperate or combined versions depending on if you want to print the two halves together or seperately. I believe it should be roughly to scale, but honestly I'm not certain, so if it's not, feel free to say how much it's off by in the comments.
