I wanted to create custom grips for my grandfather's original 1911 Colt, which he passed down to me as a Marine's legacy. Since we both have a strong connection to the Marines, I thought it was fitting to add a personalized EGA checkered grip that reflects our shared heritage. If you want to make these grips truly unique, I suggest importing them into Tinkercad and adding your own initials or lettering above the EGA in the top space. This will give you a one-of-a-kind design that matches your style. When printing these grips, I recommend orienting them vertically for the best surface resolution possible. If you print them flat on the bed, splitting them into separate pieces, expect the details on the top surface to become washed out and less defined.
