The Colosseum or Coliseum, known as the Flavian Amphitheater, stands proudly in the heart of Rome, Italy, showcasing its massive elliptical structure. At an actual height of 48 meters, it covers a sprawling area of 2 hectares. Construction on this monumental project began in 70 AD and could accommodate anywhere from 50,000 to 80,000 spectators who gathered to witness thrilling events such as gladiatorial contests, public spectacles like mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical Mythology. This architectural wonder was inspired by the grandeur of Ancient Roman architecture, with masterminds Vespasian and Titus behind its creation.
