One of my first projects made possible by my 3D printer was Ellindsey's Ball-Jointed Articulated Octopus:\r\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:584405\r\nIt served as an excellent opportunity to learn about my printer and I was thrilled with the finished product.\r\nHowever, there were a few aspects of it that I always wanted to modify. First, I desired to design my own head, second, I thought it would be more impressive if it were a giant squid since giant squids have eight arms and two longer tentacles for a total of ten appendages. Lastly, I wanted the arms to taper as they reached a point.\r\nI set out to create my own model from scratch in Fusion 360. I aimed to design the ball and joints so that they would print and snap together effortlessly.\r\nBelow is my final model ready for your printing enjoyment. Four sizes are available: colossal (parts begin with C), large (parts begin with L), small (parts begin with S) and tiny (parts begin with T).\r\nThe colossal squid took a full week to print. It weighs about a kilogram and measures over a meter in length. The Benchy in the pictures is there for size reference.\r\nThe Colossal size could likely be printed larger on a printer with greater capacity. If you do this, please post a picture!
