Colorado State Civil Engineering

I submitted this for the rep your department contest as a proud civil engineering student from Colorado State University and still actively practicing civil engineering today. This is a detailed cross section of a typical road featuring buried utilities, meticulously designed to a 1"=50' scale for horizontal distances and 1"=5' for vertical distances. In standard civil engineering practice, this approach distorts certain features but highlights differences more clearly. As you move up from the bottom, you'll notice the sanitary sewer and services, followed by manholes extending upwards, then the storm sewer - the largest structure - accompanied by additional manholes, then water mains, water services, water meter pits, and a fire hydrant, culminating in the ground surface, including the street with a crown and curb & gutter, featuring a standard slope of 4" up and 7" back. Due to my printer's limitations, I printed it at 40% size, but the structures are still too fine to see or print clearly. To overcome this, I printed a cross section laid on its side, which worked better, although my printer's support structures are slightly robust. I hope you all appreciate this effort.
