Color/Part legend for jet engine
thingiverse
I designed a custom legend plaque for my 3D printed jet engine model, where each part was colored to represent its function. To make it easy to understand, I needed a simple and descriptive label. To create this label, I first printed small tiles of each color used in the engine model, measuring about 1/2 inch square. Next, I designed a thin sheet with recessed areas for these tiles to fit snugly into place. Using my Brother P-Touch printer, I applied a clear backing to 1/2 inch wide tape and typed out the text I wanted to display on the label. I've included the FreeCAD files used to design this plaque so that users can easily modify them to suit their specific needs. If you want to create your own STL file for the plaque, simply click on the "export this" pocket in the model and select File -> Export from the menu. For those who prefer a more interactive approach, I've also included parametric openSCAD files that allow users to adjust various parameters such as tile count and size directly. This can be a more convenient option than fiddling with the FreeCAD file, especially for those new to 3D modeling software.
With this file you will be able to print Color/Part legend for jet engine with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Color/Part legend for jet engine.
