Collyrites ellipticus

Collyrites ellipticus measures 6.5x6x3 centimeters in length, width, and height respectively. This fossil dates back to the Middle Jurassic to Callovian period. It was discovered at Montbizot in the Sarthe region. To create this three-dimensional model, a team used a reflex APS-C camera to capture 132 high-quality images in a studio photography setting. The photogrammetry technique was then applied to reconstruct the model. This project was a collaborative effort between SIGéo, CEREGE, and OSU PYTHEAS, all located at Aix-Marseille University.
