This is a collet type holding mechanism designed for pens with diameters ranging from 8 to 10 mm that I created specifically for use on a CNC Plotter. The collet's symmetrical design across the x axis helps reduce uneven stress, preventing thin cross sections from delaminating when clamping smaller diameter pens. To get the best results, I recommend printing the actual collet out of PETG or a similar material with some flexibility, while using PLA or another suitable material for the "holding" components that need to maintain their threading under load. The STL files already include a bit of added slop in the threading due to my own difficulties getting it to thread smoothly. I advise against scaling one component down or up to change the tolerance between threads as this will alter the cone shape that the collet is sandwiched by, ultimately reducing its holding range. However, if you're not concerned about clamping smaller diameter pens, feel free to scale it if needed. The mounting holes are designed to fit an M4 screw and washer for secure attachment.
