Users instruct printer to slice object into thin sections at exactly 0.2 millimeters. Pause printing when thickness reaches 0.6 millimeter or 2 millimeters, depending on specific model. Switch out filament for new one. Settings menu lists detailed options. Printer specified is the Wanhao i3 version. Object printed does not need any rafts; those pesky structures that hold it in place during printing are completely omitted. Same with supports – none will be generated at all. The resolution is high and very precise, at exactly 0.2 millimeters per inch or section. Interior of print object consists of infill material filling up only 10 percent of available space. I applied a common adhesive called glue stick to securely bond print to metal bed before allowing it to fully dry in place. This eliminated the need for rafts or other supports during and after printing process was finished.
