Collection of chains
thingiverse
This is a substantial collection of chains, up to 9 meters in length, that can be printed in one run and are ready for immediate use. The links of each chain are arranged in a spiral with a diameter of 15cm, ensuring they fit within most 3D printers. To minimize the need for support, the links are positioned at an angle as low as possible. However, a raft is required to hold the links in place while printing. The chains come in various configurations: * Wire diameters: 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, or 5mm * Link width is fixed at 2.5 wire diameters (core to core) * Link height, measured from the wire's core * Chain length, resulting in a specific number of links based on link height Chains range in total length from one meter to nine meters. Each file name provides detailed information: the number of links, total chain length in millimeters, single-link height (measured core to core), and wire diameter. Using a simple script, I generated .scad-files that were then converted to STL-files using OpenSCAD.
