Carotenoids are highly unsaturated hydrocarbons that have the chemical formula C40Hx. This collection consists of: α-Carotene (CAS: 7488-99-5) β-Carotene (CAS: 7235-40-7) γ-Carotene (CAS: 472-93-5) δ-Carotene (CAS: 472-92-4) Carotenoids are naturally found in plants but rarely occur in animals. They play a crucial role in photosynthesis by absorbing UV and blue light, which they scatter as orange / red light. As a result, carotenoids give the characteristic orange color to carrots and many other fruits & vegetables like sweet potatoes. In humans, β-Carotene is converted into retinal, a form of vitamin A. Molecules are provided in three standard representations along with simulated electrostatic (van der Waals) surfaces. The entire model is given as a C4D scene, comprising all objects which can be edited or are metaball objects.
