Collared bearing pin for iamjonlawrence's no-sag Simple Y-axis mod
thingiverse
Collared bearing pin upgrade for iamjonlawrence's reliable no-sag Simple Y-axis mod transforms belt alignment on the fly. When retracting, my original belt kept threatening to slip off, so I improvised a solution by tweaking Jon's existing bearing pin and adding a stabilizing collar to maintain precise belt positioning. This adjustment paid off handsomely as printing on my (reworked) Simple went by without any issues, and opting for 100% infill added substantial strength to the components. Instructions follow. The printing process was relatively straightforward; it was during the installation that things got tricky. Care must be taken to avoid displacing the original nut holding the bearing pin in place. Attempting to replace this critical component while leaving the Y-axis mod partially assembled is not only a time-consuming task but also fraught with risks.
