Simple collar stops extension cords from backing into cord reels. Two M5x25 (minimum) or M5x30 (recommended) cap screws and two M5 nuts secure collar around extension cord. Printers and slicers must be precisely calibrated for a successful print without supports, due to the severe arch overhang between collar halves. However, a well-printed collar can indeed clamp most 16ga outdoor extension cords solidly. The arch is designed to fit most 8mm diameter extension cords. Smaller cords may need adjustment by lowering and cutting off some of the bottom in the slicer before printing. Larger cords might require longer screws and a gap between the halves for secure clamping. ABS/ASA or Nylon are recommended materials, as they withstand releasing cord tension without breaking or shattering. Other materials can melt due to garage/shop solvents or deform under hot conditions, resulting in poor clamping performance.
