Collapsing Mace Windu lightsaber
thingiverse
A lightsaber hilt inspired by Mace Windu's iconic design, based on 3DPRINTINGWORLD's innovative idea. The hilt is crafted from scratch, while the blade can be reused from a previous project. Designed using FreeCAD software, both the project file and my custom template are included. The model is optimized for printing with simple color changes at specific layers (refer to images to determine the correct layer), and assembled by gluing separate parts of different colors together. Any good superglue works well with PLA, but take care when making color changes, as improper execution can result in weak layer adhesion. To assemble this model, you will need one body part, one body grip, one cap, 12 fin pieces (choose longer or shorter variants), one knob, one golden arc, three golden bars, two cap pins, and one full blade. For the blade, refer to the original print instructions on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3606120/. It is recommended to print the fins and pins with a horizontal expansion setting of -0.15 for easy assembly. Some bridging and steep overhangs are required at the bottom of the cap, but with proper cooling, this should be achievable with average printing skills.
