Collapsing Lightsaber Blade

Blade

This is the blade I'm using for my lightsabers. It consists of 6 pieces, each 18cm long. The whole blade is about 85cm fully extended.

The pieces are printed in vase mode at 0.2mm layer height. If you want to illuminate the blade, you should use transparent filament. The pieces blade_1, blade_2, blade_3, blade_4, blade_5 require 0 bottom layers. The final piece blade_6 should have 4 bottom layers.

If you find that the blade slips out of the hilt, use blade_1_wide instead of blade_1. It is a bit wider at the bottom.

Lightsabers which use this blade are:

Lily Tora Asi's Lightsaber

Ninth Jedi Lightsaber

High Republic Inspired Lightsaber

Reath Silas' Lightsaber

Hilt

I've also included model files for the components I use to add this blade to a lightsaber hilt.

lightsaber-blade_cutter is the cutout to make the blade fit inside the hilt. Remove this from your hilt to make space for the blade. It is oriented so that the blade exists towards the top.

The other components, when put together, form a simple cylinder, with everything that's needed for a blade illuminated by a Lumintop EDC01 Flashlight. The model “lightsaber_bottom_closed” is for when you don't want a flashlight.
