Collapsing Claws

Thought I'd give entering the Costume challenge this year a shot. Thingiverse doesn't appear to be hosting the event anymore since 2017, but that's not going to stop me from giving it a try anyway. Happy costuming! I'm inspired by single-print collapsing swords, so I decided to make a set of print-in-place collapsing claws. The idea stuck with me, and now I've got three versions: Single, Double, and Triple claw models. Plus, I uploaded two test models to help you fine-tune your settings. The claws have holes for 1/2" wide velcro strips or straps. They also feature a lock pin / vent hole system built right in. To keep them from opening on their own, use a typical barbecue skewer - just like I did. (Mine could be trimmed down more in the photos.) Since the model is designed for the right hand, you'll need to mirror it in your printing software before printing a left-hand version. The claws are oddly fun to wear, and opening them with a flick of your wrist makes for great entertainment. Pretending to punch things to close them is even better. I may have been a bit too amused while testing these. lol As always, if you poke yourself or someone else's eyes out, or any other intentional or accidental disaster occurs - that's on you. Run around pretending to be Weapon X, Y, or Z at your own risk. https://youtu.be/2CPmTyaEntc
