#Collapsing Broadsword This collapsing sword is designed to be printed as one single part. When printed, it stands at an impressive 142mm high but expands to over 860mm in total length! As the layers expand, they create a really cool noise due to the friction between them, which often catches people off guard. The sword is specifically designed to be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle, resulting in a blade that's two shells thick. I encountered some unusual issues with blobs and zits during retraction, which aren't typically problems for me. However, turning on "wipe" and "coast" resolved these issues. The thin walls of the sword combined with the narrow clearance between its segments are likely to blame for this issue. Every printer is unique, but I achieved good results by setting my MK3's coast to 0.15mm and wipe to 3mm. This collapsing broadsword is just the first version, and I have several other designs ready that I'll be sharing soon. I'm also working on some new ideas that I hope to complete shortly. You can find a blank template of the sword in both STL and STP file formats, allowing you to create your own custom designs! Please feel free to remix this design so I can also make my own version.
