Collapsible / Folding Dice Tower

Collapsible / Folding Dice Tower

thingiverse

I wanted to create a dice tower that collapses down into a compact form perfect for packing in a gaming backpack, while expanding to become a fully functional item. I also aimed to make it decently sized, as many folding towers on here are surprisingly tiny. This design uses 3mm x 2mm magnets to achieve its functionality. The tray features two magnet attachment points and the tower itself has four spots where they connect. When connected at the bottom, the tower forms a compact tray; when connected flat, it stores easily. The model is designed for printing without supports. Note that some of the 3mm circular magnets have a slight peak on one side - this should be positioned facing upwards during printing to prevent sagging and ensure proper fitment. If printed accurately, the magnet will require significant force to attach but no glue should be needed. However, if your print is slightly more open or you prefer printing at a 101-102% size, a small amount of glue can secure the attachment.
