Collapsible Arming Sword
thingiverse
This design takes inspiration from [3DPRINTINGWORLD's](https://www.thingiverse.com/3DPRINTINGWORLD/about) collapsible swords and lightsabers, which he accomplished with great skill. However, I'm not sure if it qualifies as a remix since I created this from scratch and everything about it is different except for its collapsible or telescoping nature. The most noticeable difference lies in the shape of the blade. His designs feature completely round blades, but a real sword's blade is far from round. Similarly, most swords' hilts aren't round either. To achieve a more realistic look, I opted for an oval hilt and blade shape. Other essential details include: * The pommel is removable to enable easy color changes or printing it in a different color. * Printing the blade segments separately at alternating angles produces better results than printing them vertically. This approach reduces the likelihood of them getting stuck in the extended position. * Two Fusion 360 files are provided: "original" and "redo." The "redo" version is more user-friendly, featuring components that allow for customization. * Although I forgot to properly orient the STLs for printing, flipping the hilt is the only necessary adjustment. * When collapsing the blade, handle the smallest segments with care as they can break more easily. If they do break, simply print new ones. This project was an exciting challenge that forced me to learn a couple of Fusion 360 tools I had never used before. I hope you'll enjoy it just as much!
