Collapsable Asthma Inhaler Expansion Chamber (CAIEC)
prusaprinters

The purpose of this device is to improve the effectiveness of inhalers for asthma while not taking up too much room in a pocket or purse. After being prescribed an inhaler I found out that the expansion changer that the pharmacy had was not covered by my insurance and cost $40. This seemed ridiculous to me and I had an idea that I could make something at least as good myself. After searching I was very disappointed by the options I found so I designed my own expansion chamber. After a few revisions it is now what I use with my inhaler. I hope this is helpful for others. This is a tool that increases the effectiveness of the medication in inhalers so I hope that more people will have a chance to have and use these if there is a good printable option. There is a large and small version. The small version is as small as I think is practical to allow for fitting in a pocket while the large is closer to what a standard size expansion chamber is when extended.

I've added a model with a round opening in case you have an inhaler that is that shape. I just got a new one that was round so I realized there were different options. Please let me know if the are others out there so I can make appropriate versions for them.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

MakerBot

Printer:

MakerBot Replicator 2

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2mm

Filament:

HatchBox PLA
