The Steam Punk Electronic Toothbrush Holder, or SPETH for short, is a very handy thing in every home. The Need: My girlfriend bought us two Colgate 360 Degrees "Whole Mouth Clean" toothbrushes, but they also needed a new plastic cup to hold them. I designed one because my old cup with air clips wasn't good enough. The Design: Every time I design something, I like to learn a new skill in Blender. This time it was symmetric work. I had to model the entire gear, cut it in half, and make elliptical holes. It was a challenge, but I enjoyed learning how to do it. The Print: I printed the SPETH holder in ABS plastic and used acetone to give it a shiny look. Be careful when using acetone, though - it's toxic! To make the model stronger, I printed 10-15 top layers. This ensured that the part connecting to the gear would be solid and wouldn't break easily. The Assembly: I attached the SPETH holder to the wall with silicone two-sided tape on the long leg part. It works great and keeps everything in place.
