I have a couple of Coleman brand camping chairs that I absolutely love, but it turns out that I may one day need to obtain a special dialing wand if I want to use the keypad on a phone. Or the joint wasn't strong enough to begin with. Or a combination of both. I have no idea. Either way, mine eventually broke after a good run, but I didn't want to give them up, they were in such great condition otherwise and it seems like they don't make them anymore! Well, I've got a 3D printer, so I'm not having any of that! Here's a replacement joint for the rear corners of the chair. I deeply apologize, but I cannot remember what orientation I printed first and therefore can't recall which side the attached STL is for, so validate beforehand. If it's the wrong side, simply mirror the part in your slicer! These were printed with a Carbon Fiber + Nylon 12 Mix abrasive filament to ensure that they would hold up. A camp chair is outside and exposed to heat, so you need a plastic that won't deform at warm-campsite-temperatures, won't fade / decay because of sunlight, and something that is very strong to ensure it holds up. Obviously, anyone using this is doing so at their own risk, and this would almost certainly change the "weight limit" of these chairs. How I repaired mine: - Get yourself some Carbon Fiber nylon filament, and make sure your print head can handle that. Nylon is a PITA to print with, so check out adhesion advice before using if you're new to this filament. - Print these out. I myself wanted to be sure they would hold, so I printed at 100% Infill. They're small parts, so it's not a huge deal - but you can experiment to make it as it suits your needs. - Carefully drill out the press rivets in the existing chair, and pay very close attention to how the broken/old part is assembled and comes off. - Replace with #8 Stainless Steel screws, terminating with Stainless steel washers on both sides and a Nylon Lock Nut (Posilok). I got these parts from the parts bins aisle in my local hardware store. In the recessed area on the "inside wall", you'll note the original had a recessed washer. I used a soldering iron to press-fit a replacement washer in the new part. Printed on a Taz 6 with a 1.75mm filament (YES - It's true!) using IT Works 3D Titan Aero Pro head (https://itworks3d.com/) with a 0.5mm nozzle and Nylon 12 + CF filament.
