Cold Springs - Pony Express Station
sketchfab
Located in the Bureau of Land Management's Stillwater Field Office management area in Nevada, the Cold Springs Pony Express Station played a pivotal role in shaping the development of transportation and communication across the expanding United States from 1860 to 1927. Construction of this historic station commenced during the late winter or early spring of 1860. The proximity of a nearby stream, the unique distance from other stations along the trail, the abundance of readily available building stone, and an expansive view that stretched as far as the eye could see were all key factors in selecting this site for the Pony Express Station. This remarkable structure stands out as one of the most well-preserved original Pony Express stations along the entire route.
