Cold Heart
thingiverse
A winter wonderland treat that's sure to melt the heart of a loved one. For those who brave the chill and have access to the fluffy white stuff, craft a heart-shaped snowball and scatter it around the yard, on a car, or even create a pathway. Included is a special insert and an additional mold half that enables a heartfelt message. Don't throw this one, though - it's for display purposes only. Designed with the 200 x 200 Prusa i3 in mind, scale down to 50% - 60% for a more manageable heart-shaped snowball size. Models were crafted using Wings3D and Blender, the latter of which I'm still learning to master, but found to be easier than expected. Disclaimer: throwing snowballs at loved ones may not always have the desired effect, so use at your own risk. Additional images of finished prints will follow soon. Print settings are as follows: Printer: FolgerTech Acrylic Prusa i3 Rafts: Not necessary Supports: None required Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 40% used Notes: Due to the large flat size of the print, I prefer using rafts for easier removal, but it's not essential. Custom Section: Inspiration: The idea came from a snowman maker and my desire to create something special for my wife on our 17th anniversary at the end of December. She always leaves messages in the snow for me, and now it's my turn to leave a heartfelt message just for her. Update #1: I revised the Mold_Bottom-W_Insert to improve its fit with the insert. After printing the mold bottom, I found that the insert didn't fit well, prompting a design rule reminder: don't aim for a perfect fit unless necessary. Working on the mold bottom again, and I'll update when finished. Additionally, I added Thing# to file names for easier identification if needed.
