Cold End Shroud - Diii compatible
thingiverse
I loved the original concept of xyzaxis' shroud that effectively kept my fingers out of the fan while diverting air up away from the print area. However, when I attempted to use the Dii Cooler, the two components failed to fit together seamlessly. To resolve this issue, I carefully removed a section from the area just below the air outflow duct on my original shroud. This modification allowed for a smooth integration with the Dii Cooler, but it also compromised the aesthetics of my printer's design. To address this concern, I utilized TinkerCad to make a quick adjustment and remove some excess material, ensuring that the cold end cover matched the Diii design perfectly. The modification fits flawlessly on my Monoprice Maker Select V2.1, and it should be compatible with other rebranded versions as well (Wanhao, Cocoon, etc.). I acknowledge that one of the distinct features of the V2.1 is its extruder carriage, which may affect the mod's necessity for earlier models (V1 and V2).
