It takes time for cold brew coffee to drip through a filter. If the filter rests in the coffee, then your coffee won't drip through it. This adapter raises the main filter above the level of the coffee so that your fresh cold brew can continue to drip through it. I use 175g of course ground coffee in about 1200mL of water. I brew it over 24 hours in one mason jar and then filter it into a second mason jar as shown in the picture. I use a small strainer to keep most of the coffee grounds in the first mason jar. I then add an additional 500mL of boiling water to the coffee grounds in the first mason jar, screw on the lid, shake it and then pass that through the main filter as well. Hence why my Mason jar lid has been modified. This version of the model is thinner and should fit without issue. I added a texture to the outer surface using ideaMaker.
