Coke® Light

Three years back I made something similar to this for my Grandma. There we used one whole 1ft x 1ft glass on the roof for the sunlight during the day time. And fixed the solar panel somewhere else. Here in my new design, I have used a Polycarbonate roofing sheet. The bottle and the solar panel all integrated within this corrugated sheet. Because it’s transparent the Sunlight comes through it during the day time. I have used 5 LEDs, Gauge 18 wires, Red for + and Black for -. Easy to fix, when you assembled the components together; just need to cut a square shape part out of the roofing sheet and place the system. Practically there are problems with water leaking inside the house through the newly installed polycarbonate sheet, but system is water proof. It has to be glued using water proof \ weather proof glue. But every year it has to be maintained. Because of the heat of Sun, roofing sheet starts expanding but the Glue won’t. So Cracks get develop along the glued areas. Placing the System should be done carefully checking the East and West directions, unless bottle shadow will be on the Solar panel most of the time. Thank you.
