I wanted to learn about this president because he served during my lifetime and made history as the first black president. He also lifted sanctions on Cuba, allowing them to drink Coca-Cola for the first time. I heard that Americans can now travel to Cuba due to this president's efforts. I also learned that the sanctions were put in place after the Cuban Missile Crisis, which happened before his time in office. Cuba is one of the few remaining communist countries in the world, and they have banned Coca-Cola imports to shield their country from Western influence. Because of this president's efforts to normalize relations with Cuba, Americans can now import goods from the island nation and visit freely.
