Coin Sorter and Counting/Wrapping Tubes

My wife was tasked with counting an abundance of change from a school fundraiser where kids had brought in pennies on Monday, nickels on Tuesday, dimes on Wednesday, and so forth. I figured she would have to count several hundred dollars' worth of coins. I conducted a quick search on Thingiverse but couldn't find anything that met my needs. The closest thing was HPaul's Coin Sorter and Counting/Wrapping Tubes (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11322), but they were designed for small prints beds and required multiple glue-ups, also there were issues with alignment in the comments. So I quickly decided to design something of my own. This project prints four sorting trays and four counting tubes specifically designed for US quarters, nickels, pennies, and dimes. The counting tubes have a funnel that lets coins flow easily into them, along with an overflow slot when you reach your correct count. The trays feature chamfers on top and bottom to make it simple to stack and secure them even during shaking/sorting. When creating the slots in the coin counting tubes, I deliberately chose not to use any supports. Instead, I folded some card stock, pressed it up against the tube at the right time, allowed the printer to print about six to eight laps on the paper before gently removing it. Surprisingly, this method worked beautifully for me. I designed and printed everything using ABS plastic. To simplify things, I used a 40% infill, as I often do in my own designs, also chose color coding for the trays and counters. Print Settings: Rafts: None Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20-40% Notes: The slots on the tubes may need support but for me personally it worked to simply hold a piece of card stock up to the print at that phase, and then I manually support the print while letting the printer finish the task without further assistance.
