Coin Door ramp
thingiverse
We crafted this coin slot to seamlessly integrate with a coin door we discovered on Thingiverse. We utilized an IR Emitter/Receiver to enable the detection of coins inserted into the slot. To witness our construction process, watch our build video here: https://youtu.be/iZGhxdxC9DU To utilize this piece: 1) Print it out 2) Secure the coin door to a piece of plywood or another material that matches the area you plan to install it in. 3) Apply Super-Glue (or any other suitable adhesive) to attach the piece to the slot. If aligned properly, the coin will effortlessly slide out. Ensure the "Higher End" is positioned on the coin-door side and the "Lower End" faces toward the container that receives the coin. 4) Use a box like the one we found at Lowe's to redirect the coin into the coin box (see video). 5) For added excitement, you can use the instructable mentioned in our video to build an IR detection device to register the coin insertion, illuminate an LED, and/or make it blink when a coin is inserted. There may be alternative options available, but this one made sense for us. We tested it with Quarters, Dimes, Nickels, and Pennies (USD). This part complements the amazing coin door build designed by "Big-E" at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:426031.
