Coin Control Inc Joystick 8-way to 4-way conversion

I recently decommissioned my Combatribes arcade machine, converting it to MAME in the process. It used to be a 3-player behemoth that drew crowds with its intense action-packed gameplay. The 3 Coin Control Inc. joysticks I removed from the machine still hold nostalgic value - their sleek black tapered shafts and black ball tops are unmistakable, reminiscent of Q*Bert's iconic controllers. However, these sticks boast an 8-way configuration with lightning-fast response times that set them apart from their Q*Bert counterparts. Since my control panel offers interchangeable joystick options with adjustable positioning at 0 or 45 degrees (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4150103), I opted to modify one of the sticks to suit a more modern, 4-way setup. The internal plastic sleeve houses an 8-way actuator that requires some creative tweaking to accommodate my desired configuration without compromising its performance. After reverse-engineering the design and reducing the diameter of the actuator, I successfully adapted it to prevent any interference with the diagonals. The result is a joystick that closely resembles Q*Bert's classic controller in both appearance and functionality.
