Coil maker (Vape coils)
thingiverse
My goal was figuring out how to keep wires running parallel and prevent them from twisting or collapsing. So after a few days, I sketched something on paper, designed the parts using software, and printed them out on my 3D printer. After several trial runs, it finally started coming together. The coil I initially tried was 3x26-34/34 SFC, and that worked well. You can also stretch the wires between the two clamps to eliminate powerstretching on the drill. If you're interested, you can either create your own design or have it printed at a local 3D print center. The rest of the hardware consists of M8 bolts and wire that fits into 608 (roller skate) bearings. Here's an update on the parts needed: - 2 x left gears to be printed - 2 x right gears to be printed - 4 x bearing holders to be printed - 2 x wire clamps to be printed, version 1 or 2 - 10 x M8 nuts - 4 x 608 bearings (roller skate) - 2 x 52mm imbus M8 bolts - 1 x 45cm M8 threaded rod - 2 x M4 bolt and nut for the clamps - +/- 20 roundels with an inner diameter of 8.5mm and an outer diameter of 16mm - A wooden board to mount it You can view the project on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50D9BSyaKww, and the result is available at https://youtu.be/s1dH4E0_8bg
