Cohesion3D GLCD cabinet for K40 laser engraver
thingiverse
UPDATE 7/1/17: I uploaded two additional versions: one with slightly recessed text (for single extruder) and another without any text to print upside-down, flat. I recently upgraded my Chinese K40 laser engraver with a Cohesion 3D Mini motion controller. This is probably the best upgrade for your K40 and it's only about $100 US. You can purchase one at: www.cohesion3d.com A great benefit of the C3D board is its ability to add an LCD display; this is designed as a mounting "cabinet" for a RepRap Discount/Sainsmart 12864 LCD panel. I designed this for a simple, damage-free installation of the LCD and added space for a digital temperature meter to monitor coolant temperatures. I printed this on my UM3E using PLA+ at .15mm, 40mm/sec with support and brim. It took around 15 hours to print, top-side up with two colors. Try experimenting with layer height and speed, then share your results. The first three files are available for both single and dual extruder printers. The fourth file is the mounting clip. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 3 Extended Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .15 mm Infill: 80-100% Notes: Printing topside-up results in better outcomes for dual extrusion and two-color printing as the letters are raised about .04 mm above the cabinet's surface.
