I created a bunch of props that were initially intended for an old piece but ultimately scrapped them and decided to let these props take center stage as their own standalone creation. In doing so, I gained valuable insights into Substance Painter and how to utilize its tools more effectively. Importing resources from Photoshop was also a crucial aspect I learned about during this process. For this particular piece, gathering proper reference images was my top priority. As a result, I became proficient in utilizing generators and filters within Substance Painter to achieve the desired outcome. One of the most significant takeaways from this experience was learning how to create maps/alphas in Photoshop and importing them correctly into Substance Painter for use. You may notice that the coins have unusually large UVs; this was a deliberate choice on my part, as I wanted their intricate details to be easily visible. Since there wasn't a suitable Toonie normal map available, I created a height map from scratch using Photoshop and then converted it into a usable normal map. I am extremely satisfied with how these props turned out, particularly the briefcase, which has become my personal favorite. It was rendered using Iray.
