Coffee Grounds Funnel/Distributor for Gaggia Classic
thingiverse
I'm creating a second version of my coffee distributor with a built-in funnel. It perfectly fits on my Gaggia Classic's 58mm portafilter, which has an outside diameter of 69mm. After printing, make sure to add support everywhere for a solid print. To achieve the best results, I recommend using a finer layer height than the 0.25mm I used. This will give your coffee distributor a smoother surface that's perfect for handling coffee grounds. The density setting was at 20%, but you can get away with lower settings for this specific design. This design is an improved version of my first coffee distributor, which you can find on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1744748). I added a funnel to the design and used PLA as the material. The entire model was created from scratch in SolidWorks. Originally, I had some fillets in the corners, but the layer height wasn't fine enough to print them accurately. To resolve this issue, I replaced the fillets with chamfers in this STL file, which reduced the overall file size by more than half. Compared to the first prototype, this design features a sweeper that's 1mm deeper (7mm deep), making it work better for my needs. Additionally, the sweeper is now 57.5mm long instead of 57mm, providing a slightly improved performance.
