Coffee Grinder Automation
thingiverse
I bought a high-quality [coffee grinder](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W47J1EI) and quickly discovered that I'm extremely lazy when it comes to grinding my coffee by hand, yet the result is always AMAZING. To overcome this laziness, I decided to purchase a powerful [servo motor](https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbykingtm-high-torque-servo-mg-bb-w-proof-12-8kg-0-22sec-58g.html?___store=en_us) and modify it to spin continuously. To achieve this, I carefully centered the pot, removed the nob, and disabled the gear stop on the gear. I then designed a custom part using a 3D printer and connected everything together using a cheap servo tester. If I were to take my project to the next level, I would program an Arduino Nano to generate the precise PWM signal needed to grind my coffee for the exact amount of time required. To power this setup, I use a reliable USB wall charger, but I'm aware that high amp draw could be a concern if I were to connect it to a powered USB hub. To secure everything in place, I used M3x26 bolts and M3x8 bolts, which require an M3 tap for installation.
