Despite scouring my kitchen for a template to cut new filters from paper or other materials, I couldn't find anything that worked. A helpful tip for all caffeine enthusiasts: You can use this simple tool to create your own coffee filters using kitchen paper. It works flawlessly with Size 4x1. They perform just as well as store-bought filters, so I'll never again have to buy them for my machine. Here's how it's done: Place the paper on one side of the helper and fold it over to the other side. Once that's done, fold in the sides towards the middle and trim a little bit to leave about 1-2cm of material along each edge.
