Coelophysis bauri roams the ancient landscape, a mere 220 to 204 million years ago in Ghost Ranch, New Mexico, USA. A cast of this magnificent creature resides in the American Museum of Natural History, New York, USA, while another lies preserved at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, Brussels, Belgium. Geoff Marchal captures its essence through 170 photographs in his Capturing Reality series. Coelophysis was a compact, agile carnivore that walked on two legs, reaching lengths of up to 3 meters (9.8 feet). As one of the earliest known dinosaur genera, Coelophysis has left behind scattered remains worldwide in Late Triassic and Early Jurassic rock formations.
