Cody crafts commands for Roby, who promptly carries them out. CodyRoby is a free DIY card game that lets anyone learn coding at any age. CodyRoby was created by Alessandro Bogliolo in November 2014 and updated in August 2016 to let Italian schools join the European Robotics Week without spending a dime. It's a downloadable kit that can be printed with minimal cost, cut out, folded, and assembled into cards, a board, pieces, and a box to hold everything. Read more about CodyRoby on CodeMOOC. I'm a mentor at CoderDojo Como, an Italian kids coding club affiliated with CoderDojo. During our team's brainstorming session in preparation for upcoming events, we conceived the idea of adding something new: providing 3D printed objects that are stronger and more fun to play than the original paper card version. We designed a board measuring 18cm long and all the necessary pieces at 3cm tall. The original card game and printable cards can be found on this page.
