Codsworth Body Spacer / Thruster Ring
thingiverse
Because I recently printed this awesome articulated Codsworth, I wanted to change the ball joint that connects the body to the thruster section. So I designed a "ring" in Fusion 360. As written, it connects the main body to the thruster section. I've designed it so the top ring sits flush with the body, and the bottom ring has a little overhang compared to the thruster section. The two parts are friction fit together, and each one is glued separately to the body and thruster section. This design allows for 360-degree turning of the head. It scales up well; my Codsworth is 125% and the ring fits perfectly. I've added pictures as a reference. I will update when my Codsworth has been painted. Maybe I'll add more details to the design later. Note: No support, no brim, 20% infill, 0.2 layer height, ± 2-hour print.
