Overview:

This two part insert for Codenames allows you to fit three games (Classic, Duet, Undercover) in a single box. You will need to decide which bystander and agent cards you want to use as this organizer (and the box in general) will only fit one full set. The components are all the same size so use your preferred version or just mix and match.

The boxes have width of 151.2 mm and a combined length of 220.9 mm (116.5mm + 106.4 mm ), so double check the size of the inside of the box as i only have access to the german version, but as far as i know they are all the same

This does NOT fit the XXL versions nor sleeved cards

Without rules and Duet scoring sheets you won't get any lid lift, adding them will add lid lift corresponding to their thickness (about 6-7 mm)

Printing Instructions:

Any type of filament will work.

The outer walls are 1.2 mm (3x 0.4mm nozzle) wide and should be solid.

Bottom and top surfaces don't really matter, but they should be solid as it improves stiffness.

Assembly Instructions:

Use the attached Layout.png to get an idea where to put the components. They fit quite snugly, so make sure you insert the cards without any tilt or force them into the wrong slot.

If you add the hourglass, the key cards wont fall out of their slots, even while shaking the box upside down. Without it they might slide along the lid.

The word cards have small icon on the silhouette to be able to identify their respective expansion (Classic: None, Duet: Two dots, Undercover: One X), so you can sort them into their respective slots. You can also use the blank insert if you want to mix them.

The word cards fit very comfortably into their slots when new, but the more you play with them the thicker they get from wear and tear and moisture/hand grime. When this happens it becomes quite tricky to make them fit into the box again so take care not to force things or else you might damage the edges of the cards. You can try pressing the cards with something heavy overnight to make them a bit slimmer again. If worse comes to worst you might have to take out 2-3 cards you don't like or start mixing the decks to distribute the wear across all cards. There simply isn't any more room to accommodate more thickness from wear or sleeves.

I tried adding fluid paint to the printed words to improve readability, with limited success. It should be more readable with an opaque filament or a different type of paint.

A long pencil or slim pen should fit along the long side next to the cards, but it's not specifically designed to accommodate this. A small Ikea-sized pencil will fit on top of the key cards, you might want to print a small cap to prevent it from dirtying the inside of the box.
