Codenames Box Insert

Codenames Box Insert

thingiverse

This is a custom insert to hold the parts of the Codenames game. It fits snugly inside the original box without the cardboard insert and with the rules booklet on top. You can play multiple games of Codenames simultaneously using one purchased set by selecting different subsets of word cards and one key grid per game. All you need in addition to the standard components is a way to mark guessed words and a stand for the key grid. This insert includes a "trough" for marking guessed words with poker chips and spaces for two additional key grid stands. With cheap, thin plastic poker chips like mine, I was able to fit 52 of them (9 red, 9 blue, 7 white, and 1 black) in the trough for two more simultaneous games. My Bukito printer has a small build volume, so I had to break the insert into six pieces plus a separate stand. After printing, I had to lightly sand the extra key grid stands to fit them perfectly in the corresponding spaces of the insert. Your results may vary. This custom insert was designed using OpenSCAD. Since my printer is too small for the whole insert, I had to break it up into six pieces. You can see how to make each one or the entire thing by checking out the included .scad file.
