This isn't technically a remix but a comprehensive overhaul. When confronted with some 1.78mm filament that kept slipping in the factory extruder, I needed a reliable replacement for the factory extruder mechanism. This redesign takes into account several key factors: the original extruder is mounted to the frame using just two screws and the stepper motor isn't flat on top, creating an uneven surface area. It also accommodates the larger Bowden tube mount and nut found on the Cocoon Create model maker (and possibly the Monoprice I3 Mini). This design provides excellent support against the top of the printer, which helps to alleviate stress from the two-screw mount that would otherwise have to bear the weight of the stepper. The design won't print without proper support, but the included raft design can be carefully positioned in the slicer and breaks away cleanly using pliers for easy removal. Combined with the adjustable handle from Thingiverse's 3552420 and the ExtruderCap from Thingiverse's 3313471, this redesign offers a complete solution that prevents slippage on oversized filament due to its adjustable tension.
