CocoFeet: Upcycle finished coconut shell
myminifactory
Coconut water from freshly cracked coconuts is a staple beverage in my family's household, and I've long been on the lookout for creative ways to repurpose their shells once they're empty. The durability of coconut shells, thanks to their robust grain structure, makes them an attractive choice as an aesthetic element both indoors and outdoors. I recently discovered a clever method to put these shells to use: by drilling three holes in a triangular pattern at the bottom of each shell using a 3/16-inch drill bit, and then inserting three matching feet designed for this purpose. This setup allows you to use the coconut shells as planters or even keypads. Before embarking on this project, ensure that your shells are completely dry, as any moisture can compromise their integrity. A quick coat of wipe-on polyurethane or fast-drying lacquer spray will not only seal the exterior but also enhance its appearance.
