<p>Tomorrow is the 15th of March which in Hungary is the memorial day of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 that grew into a war of independence from the Austrian Empire, ruled by the Habsburg dynasty. A war that determined the modern Hungarian era and had a considerable impact on Central-European history.</p> <p>The cockade (ribbon rose, or "kokárda" in Hungarian) originated from the French and Italian revolutions of the 18-19th century. It was a dress decoration folded from a ribbon with the tricolor of the country's flag and was worn by both sympathizers of the revolution and the rebels themselves.</p> <p>The Hungarian cockade became a symbol of the Revolution of 1848 and is still worn on the 15th of March by Hungarians as a form of showing respect to their historical heroes.</p> <p>I've designed this 3D printable version of the classic cockade. It's easy to print in separate pieces on a single color FDM printer which pieces can be glued together.<br/> For a nice surface finish I'd recommend to print it in 0,1 mm or lower layer height.<br/> To wear it on your clothing you can attach a regular safety pin with the included holder piece or use a safety pin specially made for badges.</p>
