The Cochlear MiniMic2+ comes in handy for bringing sounds closer to Cochlear implant users, but noisy table tops can create problems in group settings (such as banging hands or glasses). To overcome this issue, a stand lifts the MiniMic2+ a few centimetres/inches off the surface, producing clearer audio. A cutout also reduces weight and limits sound transfer to the mic.
