Cobra Radar Detector Mount Suction Cup Adapter
prusaprinters

This is for a very specific issue I had. I have a Cobra SPX 7800BT radar detector and one of the suction cups for its window holder was damaged. I found replacements at Hobby Lobby with a great diameter, but couldn't be held by the bracket, so I created this adapter/shim to provide the extra width and thickness to hold the suctions cups with the mount.

I don't know if anyone else will need such a thing, but it might help as a starting point for others.

Instructions

The black one shown is PLA, but I live in the southeast, so ABS is a minimum requirement and is what I printed the brown version.

Place the first suction cup in the radar detector mount and insert the shim to hold it in place. Place the second suction cup in the mount and then rotate the shim around to the second suction cup. It will take a little maneuvering to snap in place.

This provides the thickness to hold the mount to the windshield as well as holding the suctions cups outward within the smaller openings of the mount.
Category: Automotive
