Cobra HISS Arctic (GI Joe)
thingiverse
I created a winter version of the HISS based on a picture I saw, adding more detail to the treads and making assembly slightly easier compared to the standard model I posted in 2015. The file was generated using an old toy and a pair of 6 inch calipers, with estimated measurements for the missiles, blanket, and side rack. The file is designed at the actual size of the toy but intended to be printed at 25%. Printing it larger or smaller may result in too much or too little detail. To print the chassis correctly, orient it right-side up with supports. The treads should be printed with the hubcaps pointed upwards. I had better success printing the missiles horizontally and removing all supports afterwards, although this part was designed to be printed vertically. You may find that orientation works best for you. I extend my respect and gratitude to current and former members of our Armed Forces, who are true American Heroes. Their sacrifices enable people like me to live in peace, freedom, and create simple toys like these. This 3D model is available for free download, labeled as non-commercial. You can print personal copies but are not allowed to buy or sell physical versions. If you've downloaded the file from a source other than my thingiverse.com site, it was done without my permission.
